How Does Your Body Change During Week 9 of Pregnancy

During the ninth week of pregnancy, you may not notice much change in your body except for a few added symptoms. Hold on, you are already here in week 9, and have crossed a major milestone of listening to your baby’s heartbeat. Just 31 weeks to go, and you will hold your little one. Now let us understand how your body change during week 9 of pregnancy.

You will be very well expecting your morning sickness any time and will be a pro at handling all the symptoms. All of your previous symptoms would be at their peak, giving you more tiring days. Pregnancy hormones are increasing rapidly, and you may feel exhausted and moody.

How Does Your Body Change During Week 9 of Pregnancy?

By the ninth week, your little one is the size of a grape, measuring about 2.3 cm in length, and 2 g in weight. Many organs start developing, and your pregnancy hormones will be at the peak to support your little one’s growth. The following are some of the prominent changes that your body might be experiencing this week

    1. Increasing Waistline

It might not be explicitly evident to everyone that you are pregnant in the ninth week. But, you may feel that your dresses are becoming tight and your waistline has increased. It can also be because of the consistent bloating and gastric troubles that come with pregnancy. Generally, women with second pregnancy may start showing a bit early than those who are pregnant for the first time.

However, pregnancy is different for each body, let the changes come and embrace them the way they are for you. Now that your waistline began to increase, it’s not going back anytime soon. Get ready and prepare yourself to change your wardrobe. It would be a great time to revamp your cupboard with the latest trend in the upper sizes.

    What to Do?

Here are a few tips about what you can do

    • Prefer wearing loose and breathable tops.
    • Be very particular about the diet, and avoid foods that can cause bloating and gas issues.
    • Choose stretchable tops.
    • You can also try on opting for maxi dresses.
    • Do not wear tight jeans and never try to tuck your tummy inside.

    2. Hunger Pangs

You may feel a sudden hunger call during the ninth week of pregnancy. Sometimes, the nighttime cravings could increase, and you may keep searching your fridge for junk. Wait there, and watch out for what you pick to eat in that peak time. It is fine to give in to cravings once in a while, but try to opt healthily. It is common to have hunger pangs at odd times during early pregnancy and this may continue for some women.

    What to Do?

Here are a few tips to manage hunger pangs during pregnancy

    • Try to include fiber-rich food, fruits, and vegetables during the day.
    • Consuming a lot of fluids also helps you to feel fuller for a longer time.
    • Eat a light snack before going to bed.
    • Make sure to stock up your cupboard and snack box with healthy snacks.
    • Do not skip breakfast, and include healthy recipes in snacking and breakfast.
    • Eat small meals, but ensure to increase the frequency.

You may still need to watch out for a few symptoms like

    • A sudden disappearance of pregnancy symptoms
    • Increased abdominal pain
    • Bleeding
    • Excessive dehydration

You know the line, if you observe things going out of control, do not hesitate to call your gynecologist.

Having said that, other common symptoms may also follow you as they did in previous weeks. Some might stay for a few more weeks, and some might just vanish making you feel much better.

    • Frequent Urination
    • Vaginal Discharge
    • Mood Swings
    • Morning Sickness
    • Fatigue

Your ninth week will be full of surprising emotions like happiness, anger, excitement, and anxiety at a time. Consider joining some online pregnancy groups, and share your happiness and anxiety with other moms-to-be. You can talk to the people you live with to make them understand your mental state. Remember each body is different and so is the pregnancy, you may or may not experience all the above-mentioned symptoms. But, if you have nothing to be concerned about, you are safe. Trust us, you are not too far from holding your tiny tot in your hands.

    Happy Pregnancy!
