Once upon a time, there was a lion, sleeping peacefully outside his cave. A timid little mouse was running around in search of food.

Little did the mouse realize that it was running on top of the lion. When the mouse realized it was not running on rocks but on the lion instead, it hurried to get off. The lion, quick even in its sleep, caught the mouse before it could get off.

The mouse begged the lion to let go and promised to help the lion in return someday. The lion was rather amused by this promise. Though he thought he would never require help from a mouse, he was kind enough to just laugh and let the mouse go.

A few days later, when the lion was searching around the forest for suitable prey, he was caught in a hunter’s net. Try as he may, he could not get out of the net. Evening was fast approaching and he knew the hunter would come back to check if some animal was caught in the net.

The lion started roaring angrily and loudly. All the animals trembled hearing the mighty roar and were too scared to go anywhere close to the lion. The mouse, on hearing the loud angry roars, went to see what all the chaos was about.
