Cow And Tiger

Once upon a time, there was a cow who lived on a farm with her calf. She loved her calf very much like any mother. Every day, the cow used to go to the forest to graze and return to her shed in the evening. Once she returned, her calf would drink her milk. They were very happy living on the farm.

One day, when the cow was on her way to the forest for grazing as usual, a hungry tiger caught her. The tiger wanted to eat her for lunch. The cow requested the tiger to spare her as she had a calf waiting for her back home. She also told the tiger that the calf would die without drinking her milk in the evening once she returned from grazing.

The cow requested the tiger to let her go back to her shed to feed her calf. She further promised to return to the tiger after feeding her calf. The tiger also agreed and asked the cow to return quickly after feeding her calf. The tiger was sure the cow was not going to come back because no animal would come back willingly in this situation.

After feeding her calf, the cow turned to go back to the forest. She informed her calf that she would be back soon and the calf had nothing to worry about. After reaching the forest the cow called out to the tiger. The tiger was very surprised to see the cow. The tiger had not expected the cow to return as promised. The cow impressed the tiger with her honesty and integrity.

The impressed tiger decided to spare the cow and also offered to protect her from other wild animals, henceforth. The tiger wanted other animals to learn about honesty from the cow. The cow thanked the tiger and happily returned to her calf as promised.
