What Are Normal Early Pregnancy Pains?

The early pregnancy manifests mild cramping or tingling in the uterus. One even starts to have an itchy abdomen, pelvic, or vagina. It is almost the feel of a menstrual cramp.  Here are some common early pregnancy pains:

    1. Headache

Caused by tension and pregnancy hormones.

    2. Pain Due to Swollen Gum

Caused by increasing blood volume and pregnancy hormones.

    3. Pain Due to Haemorrhoids

Constipation during early pregnancy can bring about hemorrhoids and associated pain.

    4. Leg Pain

Even though leg pain is common during the end of the second trimester and throughout the third trimester, some expecting women experience leg cramps during the early stage of pregnancy as well.

When to Worry About Early Pregnancy Pains?

Anxiety is caused due to cramping. It can be mistaken as the stretching of the uterine muscles or even signaling a miscarriage. To gauge the reasons behind cramping is not as simple as the body changes too soon. Cramping does state an issue, but mild cramping and early pregnancy pains is a normal feature. It does not indicate a miscarriage. A mild pain, even known as “The Lightning crotch,” is also quite common, which is a pricking pain in the vagina. This is normal until not partnered with bleeding.

How Early Can Pregnancy Cramps Begin?

The pregnancy cramps can start from the sixth to the twelfth day once the egg gets fertilized. These cramps are like the menstrual cramps only, so they can be mistaken for the periods also. But, the bleeding or the cramps in early pregnancy are not very painful. The bleeding isn’t too severe and does not happen at regular intervals or for a few days.

When do the Hips Start Aching in Early Pregnancy?

    Hip Ache in early pregnancy

The hip aches at the early or later stages of pregnancy is due to a different reason. This happens when the uterus expands and presses the sciatic nerve. This pain then extends till the hips, lower back, and the back of the leg. The hip pain is also due to the ligaments loosening up.

What Causes Uterus Pain in Early Pregnancy?

The pelvic ache in early pregnancy happens as the body prepares the baby to pass through the pelvis. The most common cause behind this is the weight of the baby—the secretion of Relaxin that leads the ligaments to soften.

Home Remedies For Early Pregnancy Pains

    Home Remedies For Pregnancy Pains

Pregnancy is both a joy and a challenge. The hormonal changes can make one happy at one minute and sad at the other. Few symptoms are discomforting, and it might not be possible to always have pills. So, having natural or home remedies works the best. Some home remedies are:

    1. Empty the Entire Bladder

When the weight of the baby pushes the bladder, the urge to pee increases. The frequent urination is disturbing as well. So, when visiting the toilet, one should always roll back and front on the seat to empty the whole bladder. It is also important to cut down drinking water by late evening so that the trips are fewer.

    2. Intake of Ginger

Nausea is a common feature of early pregnancy.  Chewing ginger is a natural remedy for years now. One can make ginger tea from fresh ginger, and this can sip throughout the day. Apart from that, some ginger supplements are a good choice as well. Yet, a medical consultation is a must before taking any supplements.

    3. Have a Balanced Diet

Pregnancy is a time when the taste buds keep fluctuating. Sometimes, one feels to eat sweet; at others, it could be sour as well as spicy. These cravings are not weird, but having unhealthy options is not good for the mother and the baby. It is best to have balanced meals for the cravings to not arise. It is not good to eat anything that is not filling as it gives way to cravings. It is best to have a short stroll so that food does not keep bothering.

    4. Wear Loose and Comfortable Wear

Apart from food, it is vital to have a comfortable wardrobe as well. It is natural for bloating to happen. So, clothing should be such that it does not cause any discomfort. It is important to avoid foods that lead to bloating. And also have clothes that can make one feel comfortable and do not cause any issues.

    5. Avoid Standing For Longer Hours

As the body keeps changing, the body loses its balance. Thus, standing for long hours is not advisable. Fainting is a common feature as well. After 20 weeks, the blood pressure drops. It is best to go slow when standing up from a sitting or sleeping position.

    6. Use Hot and Cold Compresses

For headaches, apply a cold compress or ice pack at the forehead or the base of the neck.  Applying warm compresses in joints and back will help to relieve from back pain and joint pains during early pregnancy.

Thus, pregnancy comes with different types of discomforts. Some could be mild, some severe, and others that come and go. These discomforts can vary in their intensity as well. With proper diet care and precautions, all can face it and can result in a happy and healthy pregnancy.
